The Mining Code 2014 (Law No. 2014-138) regulates the prospecting, exploration, exploitation, possession, transport, enrichment and sale mineral substances in Côte d'Ivoire. The code was inirectly amended by Law No. 2018-144 which changed article 169(e) of the Code. Other substantive laws within the regulatory framework for the mining sector can be found below. The law is available on the official website of the Center for the Promotion of Investments in Côte d'Ivoire (https://www.cepici.ci/autre_code) . The official version of the primary law is in French and there are no official translations of this law into other languages. The government regulating entity is the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy (https://energie.gouv.ci/). The country's mining contracts are not available on resourcecontracts.org. As a member of West African Economic and Monetary Union (also known by its French acronym, UEMOA), Cote D’Ivoire is also governed by the Community Mining Code issued under Regulation N°02/2023/CM/UEMOA.
